Looking for advice in selecting a Dob mount

Hello everyone, first post here (actually, from Mexico!)

I want to acquire an Alt/Az mount for a 16" primary mirror. There is the Telekit, which I hear is an excellent product ehn finished. I've recently heard of Teeter's telescopes (which suposedly uses fine material too) and is as half as expensive as the Telekit. Does anyone knows of another "dobsonian kit"? What would be your advise between these two products?

thanks,

Jorge.

Well , you could contact AstroSystems in the USA and get some key components and build one yourself (recommend you use marine grade plywood).

You can obtain teflon and Ebony Star or equiv pretty cheaply and need not buy an entire dob kit.

A couple of places that sell components (there are lots of places who'll sell premade special parts - saves you making them.

Aren't there a couple of blokes who make Starsplitter clones here in Oz , you could look them up and ask for some of those special / tricky to make components too.
