Purchased from Sirius to use for higher magnification Solar/Lunar/planetary viewing and pics, it was tested at similar magnifications for more than 2 hours against my VIXEN VC200-L scope , the Saxon Mak with its excellent optics and longer focal length came out ahead of the Vixen as far as planetary and other high magnifiable objects were concerned. However, having two 200mm telescopes didn't go down at all with my other half so I soon realised it would be better all round to keep the shorter FL Vixen as it is a more general purpose scope and put the longer FL Saxon up for sale.
