Saturn with 127/1500 Mak

Hi,

this morning I took a view to Saturn. I can`t remember, when I did it the last time.
What happend with the rings??

I used the Philips webcam and the 127/1500 Mak with 2x barlow.

A lovely image Werner, it reminds me of what Saturn might look like to an intrepid space traveller, as they began their close approach during an imaginary inter-planetary mission to this ringed gas giant.

Cheers

Dennis

How long before the rings start to tilt away again? Without the rings, it loses a lot of it's wow factor.

According to Astronomy 2009 yearbook, the tilt of saturn's ring will slowly increase from -0.8(Dec 08) to -4.0(May 09) Then it will close up again and become ringless early Sept 09.
Saturn looks naked without it's ring

It will be a funny time. Every photographer and observer will be searching for one little detail of the ring.
