IC 434, Horsehead Nebula

My first attempt at this. Only 4 x 5min images, guided, with the 150 F5 reflector and 300D. Was pretty windy, gusting too 15 knots so wasn't sure how it would come out.

Thanks Paul. First reasonably clear night for a while, so thought I'd grab the chance to get the autoguiding working properly.

Good going for your first horse mate!

I love how newtonians handle Alnitak! So much more pretty than refractors!

Top work!

Top work with a DSLR, and yes, nice to see a non-bloomed-to-hell Alnitak.

well done Bill,
looks ood. I think flats would make a big difference here and perhaps a slight tweak of the color adjustement.
it's all there though and looks very nice
well done

Well Bill with the conditions you described and the short exposures, I reckon you have done very well indeed.

Thanks Frank, have'nt used flats yet. Hagar had the same suggestion and said I should try T shirt flats to begin with. So will have a crack at it and redo the images.

Cheers
