Some more Perth lightning

G'day all,

Not a scratch on Ben's great lightning shot from the same storm, but all I could muster from my patio. I was lying in bed about to go to sleep and saw the first flash, about 10pm. So I just had to get up and try some shots, but didn't go driving to get a better vantage point

Was an awesome show, went for hours.
Similar story to you Roger, I too had just got settled in bed, but I was about to watch the Kubric film Barry Lyndon on SBS when I heard the first rumbles around 22:30.
Like you I didn't go for a drive, I didn't want to miss any of the movie, so I set the camera to shoot thru my rather dusty bedroom window!
The light show was still going when I went to sleep at 2am, and was still going when I got up again around 4 or 5am!

Do you mind if I tack my photo in here? Seems silly to start a third thread. It's cool if not, will remove.

Image is a stack of 4x 30s, never done a stack before, couldn't get it to look the way I wanted.
If the colour looks wrong, I stuffed up and had the camera's white balance set for incandescent bulbs
Stupid Canon point&shoot camera, take a 30s photo(camera's maximum) and then the camera sits there for another 30sec 'processing image'!, meanwhile I'm missing all the best lightning!! Frustrating!
'bout time I got a DSLR.
