Clear Skies SEQ

Last night after work I enjoyed 6 1/2 hours of clear dark sky goodness.
The seeing was pretty ordinary, but who cares when the sky is clear!
Can't wait to see if I captured anything good.

Clear....but very windy here.

Ah well, at least it's not bucketing down. I s'pose we should be grateful for catching something of a break.

Yes, the sky was gorgeous here last night (im on a property here) couldn't sleep because I'm ordering my scope tomorrow. Spent about 4 hrs just looking at it all, and hunting for newly remembered objects with my binos. I've been told not to expect too much out of a telescope, but if 'just looking up' amazes me, I should be safe

happy viewing all

Yep... it was a stunning night... I set up, Finally got to collimate my C11, tried imaging, but the wind was wreaking havoc on that plan, so I simplified the setup and spent a night observing with the C11.. (For the first time)

Since collimating it, I love it.. On the gauge it looks like this

I was amazed how clear it was here in suburbia. I spent some time outside with the binoculars. Didnt want to get the DOB out, the local morons were acting up. Sigh.......i need an acre or two.

I got clear skies after 10pm- all be it with 30knot winds and freezing cold (about 4C in the observatory)
I was able to take calibration frames with my new ST9E to transform photometry data and took some photometry images.
The first night in a month!!!
