hi guys,

2 clear nights were granted recently and eneabled gathering some photons on an object I had on my to-do-list for a long while.
this nice interactive galaxy is a tough object - tougher than I thought, and the final result sure would proft from much more exposure time...if only the heavens would grant more clear skies...
so - here is what I have gotten so far.
maybe I'll get the chance to collect some more data soon.

all data is on the website - as usual:
http://www.stargazer-observatory.com/772.html

full size:
http://www.stargazer-observatory.com/772-full.html

please find time to check ou the enlarged crop version as well:
http://www.stargazer-observatory.com/772-enl-crop.html

thanks for looking - I hope you enjoy!

regards,
Dietmar

Wonderful image, Dietz. The enlarged crop is quite special. Loads of fine detail and the colours are just beautiful.

Great to see you back on your game.

Wonderful image Dietmar. The detail in the core is spectacular. Looking at the image it gives a feeling of a very small Galaxy just hanging in space.
Nice job on the processing. I wish I had half your processing skills.

A magnificent piece of work Dietz. Have not seen this target before, must give it a go sometime. I enjoy the 3d appearance, like a whirlpool effect. Well done and thanks for sharing.

So that is what a 3D comma looks like up close. I wont bother to add any superlatives.

Hi Dietmar,

From one galaxy imaging nut to another, that is a truly wonderdful image.
There are dozens of galaxies in the background of the prime target.
The processing is awesome.
Well done, I will try emulate that with a wonderful southern hemisphere galaxy one day.

Regards
Gerry
