M33 with a QHY8

Hi All

It's been a long time since my last post but I do have a new image I would like to share with you.

This shot of M33 was take at Lake Bathurst which is 230k south of Sydney,Australia and quite dark.

Exposures were 6 x 10min and shot through a FSQ106ED and guided with a FS60c on a AP600E mount.
All pre-processing in AA4 and all post-processing in CS3.

Although this galaxy is very low for us down here It still is worth doing when the seeing allows.

For those who wish,a bigger image can be found at my site: www.atalas.net (under Most Recent} or here is a link to the high res image. http://www.atalas.net/components/com...date=&location

Hope you enjoy

Very nice shot Louie!

In the high res, the galaxies bright surrounding is very well defined.. Well done..

Top shot Louie. It's a challenging target to get the detail, brightness and contrast across the image right. Ya done good.

Lovely image Louie, Captured very nicely. Looks to be just hanging in space. The QHY8 does a nice job connected to the Tak.
Very nice

Louie,

Hey, mate!

What a splendid image with tight round stars, even background, and loads of detail for such a little scope. I really like the warm background, too.

I remember sighting this and M31, visually with you up at Coonabarabran just before the Orionids went blazing across the sky.

I look forward to imaging this one next year, as, unfortunately, for this year it's reached its highest point and is on its way down now.

Just wondering, did you have to crop much off? I'm trying to get an idea of how this will image through an ED80 and the 350D.

Good to see you posting again, mate.

Regards,
Humayun

Louie, very smick and tight as (as it should be with that tube and mount). And BTW, very nice site. Do yourself a favour and ditch the low res thumbnail thing or post it in higher res .

Yeah - me too. I've hired the obs a number of times and Zane just lets you go for it. I didn't realise that he had an FS60-C as guide on his FSQ. LOL! He'e a lad! More new equipment!!
