Question Attaching telescope rings to dovetail plate

I need
A couple of months ago, I bought a set of 4.5 inch rings for my dusty old reflector. I also bought a new solid aluminium dovetail bar for my 10 inch. This meant I now had a spare dovetail bar to connect this old telescope of mine to my lxd55 mount.
My dilemma: how do I attach the dovetail bar to the telescope rings?
The rings themselves are pretty simple. There is a hole on both rings for an attachment of some sort but that hole is bigger than the one on the bar.
I'll get a picture posted up of each item soon. They are awaiting surgery at my dad's place but I thought I would ask you knowledeable folks before I drilled anything. The rings also didn't come with the bolts to secure the rings in place once mounted so I would also like to know what would be appropriate bolts and where could I get them from.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Silvie, you can pre drill holes through the rings and use these as guide holes. Then simple position the rings on the dove tail bar and use these holes as a guide. Then drill and tap the holes in the dove tail bar say about seven threads. Try to make the threads around 4mm or 5mm in width. Hope fully that will solve your problem, if you can post those shots we will have a better idea of how to combat the problem.

Paul.

Thanks Paul. That sounds simple enough for my dad. Hehe, don't ask me to hold a drill!
I'll post the pic soon. Haven't gotten around to it, being xmas and all.
