Dont Know Whether Your Remote (TV Ect Ect) Works Or Not?

hi all

picked up this little trick from a newsletter i subscribe to

if you have a digital camera (interesting statement huh )

turn on, point your remote at the lens and press any key on it

and on your LCD screen you should see your remote flashing its little heart out

(eyes cant see it camera can)

have fun LOL

Very cool.....

Now I'll wait for the explanation as opposed to googling it. Someone's bound to have the answer

Something to do with IR, eye sensitivity, CCD chip, invisible spectrum, I suppose.

Exactly correct Norm, I cannot give a technical reason, but many years ago when in the TV service industy, this was a common way to see if a remote control is transmitting - point it into a video camera.
