Get ready - here it comes!

Guys,
Get your solar filters cleaned tonight, tomorrow you may be using them to see a large sunspot group!!!
First seen in Ha, then found as an obvious spot even in the 8x50 finder ( fitted with a Baader solar filter)
Not very often we see something like this at solar minimum.
Don't know the official AR# yet......

Thanks for the heads up. Any pics? Never seen any sunspots since buying the filter more than 12 months ago. May be this is the time...

Still visible!!

It's 14:35 UT ( 2:30pm in the avo UK time) and I just had another look at it.
It's still there!!
It shows up on the MDI solar image ( see LHS pane on IIS)
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/...512/latest.jpg
and all the other wavelengths show a distinct brightness in the same location!
Only seen one photo on the UKAI forum so far......

Damn, I really wish I had a solar scope or maybe even a white light solar filter for my C8 right about now.

I'm looking forward to anyone posting some images tomorrow.

Great observations!
