My New SD Card Reader Question ?

hi all

ive got a question regarding a new card reader ive bought it is a 70 in 1
reader writer USB 2.0 Capable Powered by same

it didnt come with any info apart what it is capable of

the question is this what software (if any) is required to transfer stuff across? (dumb question most likely not really with it today )

can you use any of the software that came with the camera ? (canon A580)


or do i just use explorer ? (Xp Pro ?)

Just plug the reader in to a USB port (without the SD card), XP will install the drivers and recognize it.
Once it's finished then plug in the SD card and you should be able to open up a window (XP treats it as a separate drive) and view the contents of the card.
From there you can do what you want with the files.

Adding to RB's post, when you use Explorer to read the card, you'll find the various slots will show as drives (e: f: g: h: etc), only the one with a card plugged in will be readable. You should also be able to right click on the one you identify as the SD slot and rename it to something meaningful like SD card.

thanks Phil i noticed that in explorer, thought i was going nuts, multiple

copies of my documents, my nokia ect ect, still were there after safely removing hardware

ive got a thing called EOS Utility and Zoomx memory card utility i might try those instead of explorer ?
