Here's my latest attempt with the DSI II pro. This is a stack of 7x4mins for each RGB channel through the ED80 taken during the early hours of Sunday morning last week at Mt Kent (my first all-nighter).
The sky has turned out a bit blacker than I had expected and I have some blue halos around the bright stars but I'm quite happy with the result - still a lot to learn about photoshop so comments and tips welcomed.
Thanks all for the feedback. I've spent quite a few hours today playing with PS but obviously need a lot more time. One thing I'm finding is the sky background goes darker when I save as JPG - not sure why?
Here's my efforts from today...
Trevor - this image is an RGB composite using the DSI II pro (mono camera). Each colour channel is a stack of 7x4 min exposures making a total exposure time of 84 mins. I also had the DSI subtract darks that I took at the beginning of the imaging session (5x4 min=20 mins). After aligning and stacking, I've mainly used levels and curves in the processing. Hope this helps.
