Lovely image Peter. I'm not a fan of Ha images but this image stands out as something special. The detail in the dust areas and nebulosity gives a true 3 dimensional appearance to this.
Can I ask what type of Ha filter and how narrow is the filter?
I love it.

Thanks to one and all for the positive feedback.
...just need the weather to co-operate for some more data.

I'm now using a Baader 50mm set. The H-Alpha has a 7nm bandpass. Reflections seem to be well controlled and the par-focal aspect is nice for narrow band work.

I seem to have reached the point of diminishing returns with extra
H-alpha data, hence colour may follow if the weather co-operates!
new data added on the same link as before:

I agree Peter, I don't think you're going to get anymore out of it, especially at that resolution. Can't wait to see the L(Ha)RGB composite!!!

This will turn out very nice Pete.
Going to add some Lum or just going for a Hargb??
Look forward to the final composition.

Lovely work Peter. The challenge of adding RGB data will be an interesting one. Exceptionally contrasty data to work with that loves to washout the chrominance saturation. Looking forward to seeing the polished rendition.

Thanks Jase. The data looks a little more "chrunchy" at web resolution compared to the full res .tiff.
Looking outside...sigh... all I'll be able to add in the short term will be some stratocumulus opacus filtered frames .... and work commitments will have me away until well into the month. Might end up as a 2 year project!
Cheers
Peter

This is going to be a very nice image Peter....great work.
Now I did look, but did not see it...is this a single frame shot through your AP or is this a high-res mosaic using your RC?
Cheers

Thanks Martin....I thought I wasn't too shabby already
...the lack of diffraction spikes gives it away ...AP155, 2 frame mosaic with the 4" field flattner.
