Helix Nebula combined

Helix Nebula captured over 2 nights. 10 X 15 minute exposures and 10 X 10 minute exposures calibrated with Darks ,Flats and Bias files.

That is a very good shot, the fainter details are starting to show nicely. This is a faint object to capture so well done indeed.

Presumeably the shot was with the QHY8 via the VC200L (FR) or was it with the 40D? BTW as a Dark contains the Bias and you subtract that from the lights during calibration I did not think you needed to use stand alone Bias for processing unless you want to get a scaleable thermal frame to use with different length exposures. (aka Adaptive Darks).

looks good doug. the weather at mt beauty must be improving... not so cold now, and with the drought still in full swing you can expect some good imaging over summer.
