Another Helix

Folks here is our attempt at the Helix.

Taken Friday night by myself and Charlie Borg, its a combination of

2x3min at 800ISO plus darks
14x4min at 800ISO plus darks
1x4min at 400ISO plus a dark.

Stacked in DSS which took the best 80% which brought it down to a grand total of 54min and 33 secs for 14 images.

Processed in CS3 and cropped for display.

Equipment used Canon350D with Orion Broadband DSF at prime focus - Skywatcher 102 achromat and DSI as a guider.

(I'm still trying to get my brain around this processing thing.)

Nice image.

The background is a bit blue whereas it ideally is neutral.

Try curves/blue and pull down the last 1/3 of the curve.

Or try a free trial of Gradient Xterminator and that will also
fix that.

Hi Greg
Here's the reposting...fingers crossed, I altered the blues in photoshop as you said, hopefully its not too overdone.
I think the blue colour comes from the Orion Broadband DSF I use.
