Star Atlas Pro-Paul Mayo Extended Sick Leave

On behalf of Paul Mayo ("Photon collector" and Creator of Australia's only Atar Atlas & telescope control system.) I have been asked to please release this statement.

Paul as asked me to do this on his behalf. We have been close friends for about two decades after our hobby of astronomy introduced us to each other in the late 1980's.

Paul was initially admitted to hospital around mid-august and discharged two weeks later after being treated.

A few weeks later it was discovered that he was not treated properly and had to return to hospital-No disrespect to doctors concerned.

Paul has every intention of continuing his work with Star Atlas pro, especially since he had almost completed a new version of his outstanding deep sky star atlas & telescope control system.

Paul also says he can't wait to get better and get out under the stars to his life long hobby of amateur & especially astrophotography & begin sharing those images with others to look, wonder and gaze at.

He says it is very important for everyone to understand that he does not do astrophotography as a way of promoting himself - rather just to share the experience of "seeing" the amazing objects that occupy our galaxy and the universe.

He especially enjoys showing his images to friends and workmates who are not amateur astronomers and Paul enjoys hearing the "oohs and "ahhhs" and the "what the heck is that" questions.

Finally, Paul sends his "hello" to everyone

Please send any replies to Scott at

and to Paul at
paulm@skylab.com.au

Thanks all, regards Scott

Scott, Please pass on my best wishes and wish him a speedy recovery. He has been an inspiration to all of us. His images have been missed. He is an inspiration to the newer astro photographers on this and other sites with his exceptional images created with average equipment.
Get well soon Paul.

Get well soon Paul, it's a real bugger being crook and not being able to get out there and enjoy your hobbies.

All the best mate.

Good luck Paul, I hope your recovery is speedy and complete. Send him up to the ponderosa for a recovery vacation, [1ponders] could use an extra set of hands...
