Orionid meter shower

A bit early - but can any one advise the best time (of day) to look at Orionid meteor shower in October. I am in New South Wales and would love to be able to show the kids.
Thanks

Like most meteor showers, you have to have the radiant above the horizon to see anything, first of all. And then most showers are in the wee hours of the morning, when the earth is turning into the streams. Try 2am to 5am around October 20th - you might have to check for exact date of maximum but a day either side should still be ok for a good show.
