My son's new telescope : he is 5 years old

Hi,

After arriving home from a three day astronomy workshop my son was very keen to show me his new telescope. I'll give you the details of the scope.

Aperture : 45mm
Colour correction : Perfect
Chromatic aberation ; Nil
Minimum and maximum magnification ; 1 X
Cost : Priceless

I hope it is the start of a lifelong love.

Thanks

Mark

Perfect for the little bloke, and I'm sure he is enjoying every moment of it, at least it was a cheep outlay. and with all the optical performance of a high end scope, what else could one ask for.

Pretty cool gear your boy has!

Glad to see another young person join the ranks! I am sure he already knows not to point such a powerful scope directly at the sun!

Love it!

I remember my son's first scope... it's a magical time. That was a few years ago and he's still keen. He loves coming out to Astrofest and Barambah. It's a great hobby for a parent to share with their kids!

Good one Mark

That is one moment you will never forget. Kids give you so much, its a pity we often focus on the negative bits.

Geez I hope he polar aligned that mount Mark!

Looks like he has some of the special 3M tube rings too! they are a specialty item, very pricey!

Make sure he learns the basics and get him to drift align every time he drags that "scope" out of the house and he will be on the right path.

Next he will be making a roll off roof for his cubbyhouse.....

Cheers

Chris
