Wide Fields

My cable release arrived the other day and I've been having a ball with it.
Though I'm still limited to relatively short exposures because of field rotation, which is obvious in these pics, still, I'm very pleased with what I can capture.

Camera Canon 20d with the Canon 50mm F1.8 (set to f2) mounted on The Cube.
Taken on the 30th and 31st of August.
Length of exposures are
61 seconds
31 seconds
47 seconds
45 seconds

Top work Jeanette, field rotation?, looks like vignetting to me, but fairly mild.

Excellent Jeanette, great to see more shots from you.
I really like the second one with the LMC and foreground.
Also the Coalsack really stands out nicely in the third shot.

That looks sawesome Jeanette! I recently finished my piggy back attachement for my camera. I can't wait to try widefields from my backyard tonight. The weather's been so crappy this week-end I missed my new moon week-end. Looking at your pictures now I'm starting to have massive withdrawal symptoms . Great stuff. Well done.

Very nice indeed!
Must get a piggyback mount so I can try this myself next time I'm in a location where I can see the stars
