which one

Hi fellas
I need a mount that I will use for astrophography. As funds are a little tight , would the EQ6 goto be suitable or should I wait to be able to purchase the Heq6 pro version (scopes and assesories are about 18 kg. What are the difference between the both
Thanks

The latest EQ6 with Synscan it the same as the White EQ6 pro only difference is the colour, as far as I know. You can always buy the EQ6 without goto and upgrade later if your money does extend that far.

HEQ6 Pro? There's a HEQ5, EQ6, EQ6 Pro, & EQ6 SkyScan (aka SynScan, aka SynTrek). I haven't heard about an HEQ6 Pro.

The 6 basic & 6 Pro (Skyscan etc) have a different handset, circuitry & motors, but apart from the colour I don't think the different goto versions are different. The HEQ5 is a different beast altogether - much lighter.

Apart from goto with the more advanced version(s) you also get guiding, you can't do that (without modifications) with just the basic version. You can upgrade the basic version, but the kit costs close to a thousand bucks, so it's much cheaper to get goto from the get go.

When I got my mount goto was only a rumor, and I still haven't sprung for the upgrade - do let me know if you find a cheaper source. $995 is the best price I've found so far.
