I don't think that it's too red, It just stands out more with the really black background more so than it's too red.

Don't know about being too red..?..perhaps? There appears to be a lot of outer nebulosity there that just can't be seen too well, like you have clipped the data..? Still a pleasing result huh?

I've seen many less red ones and enjoyed looking at them, but this deepish red together with the really black background looks great imho.

Cheers

Cheers Paul, but there is a fair bit missing as Mike says. Check out this one by Clive as a guide.

yep.. the sky looks like someone spilt a jar of black ink all over it.. other than that, she's a beauty... the diamond looking stars are a bit odd, but iirc they are the norm for a VC200L

Yes the big obstruction makes some stars square.

The data is there, bad flats hid it in the original. Here's a rework in progress.

You've brought in a 5hit load of noise. I can give you the raw process file to play with if you want but it's 60meg

noise came in during JPEG compression.. I cropped it down but still had to compress it to 62% quality before it made posting regulation size...

60mb.... eh - i got nothing better to do.... gonna upload it somewhere for me/email or what?

Check PMs. It's built from 6x10minute subs and no flats so there's a little bit of skyfog and gradient to deal with.
