Had a nice night! Pleanty of people who paid us a visit at the Harbour Foreshore in Newcastle. Anyway I will let the pictures do the talking.
Oh BTW, we were able to view m57 through direct lighting, bushfire haze and a almost full moon. Orions scope of poles and a 18" shaving go lo mirror and stuff just managed to resolve the disc, where as the superior Meade 12" had a fine view with sharp crisp non colourful shape well shown!! Thanks Ed
Twas nice using both big Photon Collectors there , and those big hunks of glass
many thanks to ALL who attended and especially to those who bought their scopes, be they big or small.
Scott
Nice photos Venus!
It was a little difficult for me to do some observing at that spot I couldn't make my mind whether to grab the telescope or the fishing gear!
I like the second photo. How does Houghy do that, the telescope must be bolted to the ground (the things we do for astronomy!)
Actually that photo explains alot. For one, why h0ughy keeps buying eyepieces to try to find one he likes. Hint:h0ughy - to see the moon, look through the other end

I actually thought I had a reminant image from duckadang of the ponders nebula
