Heads Up: ISS Evening Passes

The ISS is coming around to some evening passes again.

On the evening of the August 19 a favourable pass for the coast of Queensland from the NW to the SE at about 18:35 AEST.

On the 20th the pass is at about 19:00 AEST and is favourable for central and western Queensland and NW NSW. Again from NW to SE.

The pass on the evening of the 21st is favourable for Adelaide and less so for Melbourne (going into eclipse for Melbournians). This is at about 19:25 AEST (18:55 ACST) and again from NW to SE.

The 22nd sees two visible passes. The first is good for Sydney and northern NSW at about 18:15 AEST. The second is probably best for Adelaide and any observers in the Great Australian Bight at about 19:22 ACST. Both passes are NW to SE.

On the 23rd the pass should be good for Adelaide, Vistoria and Tassie at about 18:40 AEST (18:10 ACST) and again it's NW to SE.

Al.

I have a morning pass on Friday morning at about 5:15am, pretty much directly overhead at -2.4, 89deg altitude!

Was that the ISS that went over lower half of QLD 5 mins ago (6:30)? Something fairly bright, maybe 1 or 2 mag, went over west to east but I couldnt get my camera lined up in time before it went behind the inevitable clouds. It was slightly north of Roma.

Adrian

Looking at the prediction charts it could not have been ISS. Wonder what it was?
