Reprocessed Joop now with 2 FREE moons!

Hi All,

While watching the Olympics, I browsed through Mike's excellent Planetary processing guide again and realised that I have been missing the important "stack limit" section. DOH!.

I ran two images through registax again that I took on 16th May and 5th August respectively and it turns out I can capture moons after all! and that was with the Pentax digital camera too! Its interesting to compare the Pentax on the left with the 2.5x barlow and the one on the right taken with the 3x ED barlow and prime focus with the ToUcam. hmmm, noiiiiice!

Gotta be happy with that eh? Seems this does a lot for the quality and I feel a bit silly for missing it out all this time, oh well, RTFM right?

Thanks for stopping by and taking a squiz! (PS. before you ask, there is no moon in the second pic )

Cheers

Chris

Nice work, Chris. The first one is overexposed a tad but otherwise well done.

Great work Chris, you have got to be happy with that.

You have managed to capture the GRS and two jovian moons in the first image.

Well done.

Thanks Mike and Matt,

Yes, the first one is a legacy shot from the Pentax dark side afocal days, but I realised when I quick and dirtied it, that some moons poked their head though the gloom and I may have overdone it a bit when I saw they were there.

However, the second one, is on closer inspection, one of the better results I have achieved with my little toilet roll of a scope, I am quite happy with the processing there and the overall details etc.

Seems I can even impress myself when I follow Mike's instructions properly!

Thanks again,

Cheers

Chris
