Cheap Vixen ED80Sf

I have been cursing my accountant for the delay in my tax cheque, but now it looks like I owe her a bottle of wine.

telescopes.com have just put the Vixen ED80Sf with portamount and two eyepieces on special for $564US! With shipping, this brings the total up to around $885 AUD, less than the $1000 limit to stay GST free.

It's hard to tell, but there might be a $50 brokerage fee also - website customer service says there is, but their shipper (FedEx) says there isn't.

Compared to the cheapest Australian retailer (that I could find), this is a saving of nearly $500 including shipping.

Eagerly awaiting the next 3-5 business days...

Hmmmm - seemed a good deal so I took a peek. Don't see it at that price, but do see what you mention offered at US$779.99

Yeah, it's strange - I have been watching that item for the last two weeks, and it has been 779.99 the whole time, then on Friday it was $546...

I used mortgage repayment money to buy it (hopefully my tax cheque will turn up by then ).

They took the money and I haven't got any "sorry for the inconvenience" emails, so I wonder if it will still turn up...

Telescopes.com also have had the Vixen LVW EPs cheap too, I wasn't sure if they'd ship outside the US though

From my correspondence, they have region agreements with all their other suppliers (ie no shipping outside US) except Vixen.

It may be worthwhile sending them an email though...

edit: sorry Jethro - just saw the eyepiece brand, I assumed you were talking about pentax...
