Hi all,
With all work commitments over I was desperate to photograph something. The first image is a 2 Minute shot and processed very simply (my ability, curves and levels once) using GIMP at ISO 800. The second is 6 X 2 Min lights and 4 X 2 Min darks stacked DSS then processed using GIMP as mentioned above. I tend to prefer the first due to the colour. I don't know how to bring up the colour in the second one.
Shot using Skywatcher ED 80 guided using PHD with Canon 400d unmod.
Any suggestions welcome.
Well done mark,
I prefer the second one as the colors seem a bit wrong in the first with the red pushed a bit too far
you can really see the benefits of the stack in the second one
keep up the good work
frank
i use deepsky stacker (free)and found it does a good job with the color (i stack as tifs) just use the saturation in photoshop(not so free) to give the color a bit more punch, use the levels centre eyedropper to get the background color balance right. i found the highlights/ shadow tool allows me to get more of the fainter stars up without blowing out the core.hope this gives you some ideas.
