M7 Open Cluster Closeup

Reshot this one. I was aiming for round stars this time, rather than the bananas I got with the last shot.

Collimation and autoguiding were much better. This time the stars look a lot less like bananas when viewed close up, however I think focus could have been sharper.

Scope: SN-8 LXD-75; MPCC; Autoguided; no fishing line.
Exposure: 42x30secs ISO 1600.
Camera: Canon 350D unmod.

See top-left of second image below for what looks like a planetary

Nice deep image, Bill. Lovely cluster.

The stars look a bit bloated/over saturated but apart from that it's a great deep field.

Lovely work on this open cluster Bill. I enjoy the colours you've displayed especially the background star cloud hue - very rich in colour (gold!). Well done.

A lovely image Bill. The cluster looks great against that backdrop of dense stars.

Cheers

Wow, I like the look of this one, I'm going to have to aim at this one when I get a chance.

I love to golden backdrop with the cluster just floating there, very nice.
