Just noticed on the Bintel website that Televue eyepiece prices have dropped heaps. In the order of 20-25%. The Pan35 I paid $485 for two months ago is now $389!! Nagler T6's are now $295 down from $375.
I must say I'm not affiliated in any way with Bintel, I just like a bargain! Wish I had some spending money..........
it smarts a tad when you look at something you bought last week and see it's $100 cheaper this week
It also hurts when you try to sell something 2nd hand and recoup your $ when new prices on just about everything have dropped a lot in the last year or so
For those building their collection now, I doubt it will get any better than this.
Coincidently American dealers have announced that they can sell Televue worldwide as of July 1st, so I guess there has been a change of policy at Televue.

They certainly have, they just weren't making a big song and dance about it.
That's because prior to the 1st July they were breaching their Distribution Rights Agreement with Televue by doing it; and they risked losing the right to be a Televue Dealer in the US, if found selling Televue outside CONUS. For the larger ones this may have cost them a lot of $$$ in sales revenue if they did lose their distribution rights on Televue products in the US.
The T 6's are slowly but surely being relegated to the cheap and nasty
bin lol.... ok...ok...ok... just kidding. But a 13mm and 8mm Ethos could
be on the cards in future.
Hey Graham, I'll show you the box my 20mm t5 came in, it still has a
price sticker on it saying $904... I got it for $570 but it's been through
a couple of hands before me.
The pic of the Bintel advert was taken from Sky & Space FEB/MARCH 2003 issue. I wonder how many people would confess to buying the TV EP's at these prices. I certainly didn't/couldn't and even now at the current 'great' prices, the EP's are still a large cost outlay.

Thanks for the attachment Stephen. It made feel better, as I bought 3 Panoptics and five Radians in mid 2005 at significant lower prices than those shown on attachment.

PS. Is any body interested in buying form me an "Antique" Panoptic 22, lets say for a bargain price of $2,000.00? Remember that the price will go up with time.
I was in at bintel the day the price dropped. Apparently the reason for this is to allow shops that are not in the states to compete. As it is atm you can by them tax free from California, pay the shipping and still by them cheaper than you could here.
I think the move was to protect the local market.
