Jupiter + Io - Brisbane 28/6 ~ next to no transparancy.
I went out tonight due to jupiter withdraws... however I was met by a very fine medium altitude mist and a bit of dew forming at lower altitudes...
I decided I'd give jup a bash anyhow, and came up with this... Its not my best data, but it is however the best capture of Io (or any of jupiters moons for that matter.) So I thought I'd post it.
Great news! I was just out imaging for the last hour or so and have captured some data that was very promising...
As far as seeing and transparency goes I think it was above the average of late!..
With the 8", 3x barlow, extention tube and a 10mm ep, giving me a touch over 400x mag, i was getting nice clear view of Jupiter, the GRS, detail in most of the belts and even surface detail within the NEB/SEB (not the most contrast ever though..)
The fact that with the 8" I could go over 300 mag makes me think that these AVI's I have sitting on my HDD at the moment may infact be. GOLD!
gday alex.
good capture. i see you use the same setup as me
I use a 4x barlow and if the conditions are good an extention tube. I think theres more to be seen in ya 8 incher yet
