Just returned from taking my sons to the Fanfest Supernova which was at the Telstra Dom at the Sydney Olympic Park.
It was a nice afternoon...SciFi, Comics, gaming...a little bit of everything was there to see and enjoy...There was even Professional Wrestling (entertainment).
While there were many opportunities to spend money, I thankfully was able to avoid them.
There were a few actors there from SciFi shows like Star Trek, Battle Star Galactica and Serenity/Firefly. I was surprised how much older Lt. Uhura is in person! A signed picture could be had for a small fee...
Many people were dressed as their favorite characters...and while I recognized the Star Wars folks, I was clueless about many of the Japanese Comics inspired costumes...I have considered myself at least partially up to date on things "pop culture" but I now understand I am not. Some of the costumes were very colorful and others more revealing than I expected

...they've come a long way from the Imperial Storm Troopers outfits that is for sure.
Anyway, I enjoyed the day...lots of interesting sights and sounds.
