Lightbulb NGC253 and tired eyes!!

The best time to image here is after midnight, when the chimney smoke dies down and sports field lights are turned off. I have 4 sports fields close by...
Tennis: Off around 10pm
Hockey: Off around 10pm
Rugby Club: Off around 1am!!! Those guys must be mad!
Swimming Pool: Off around 11pm.

Friday night last night, and it was looking good at 12pm so I set up for NGC253. I almost didn't bother as this makes it the 4th night that I haven't got to bed before 3am!

Anyway decided to give NGC253 another crack. It's still a bit low, but not too bad.
Here is the result of 27x4min exposures @ ISO800. C9.25@g/6.3
Very minimal processing.. Just levels really. It amazing what little you need to do once you reduce the noise down with lots of exposures!

Hi-Res version (1.5M) here

Yep!

Robby, that is a fantastic shot. I hope you are storing all your pics to publish a book. They certainly are good enough.

If you did publish a book of your pics I would buy it.

Thanks mate!!
I'm not sure how well these shots would stand up to book quality printing.. Maybe postage stamps ..
I was thinking about doing a Calender.. Might be able to scrounge 12 half decent shots for a mini-size calender.
Now there's an idea... 2006 IceInSpace Calender!! Mike, you listening? Could be a good fund raiser?
Cheers

I would be happy with that Robby!

As long as I had some big glossy prints of your Galaxies I would be happy as a pig in mud!!!!

I love Galaxies.

Or maybe a rugby league player in mud might be more appropriate
