Any good for imaging?

Just wondering if the more experienced guys can give me a brief explanation to a yes or no answer as to whether this scope will be okay to image through, no blue halos etc.
Thanks.

Hi,

Unless you want to spend three to five thousand AUD on a specialist TAK, Televue etc imaging scope; then yes 500 bucks for an ED80 is a good deal. Many people use them and get good results. You will get some field curvature and will need a flattener and you may get some blue halo's but what would you expect for the price?

It is not an APO but is far better and in a different league from the average achro and contains some good ED glass. If you look through the imaging forum you will find plenty of examples of photos taken with this scope.

Cheers
Paul
