FOUND: Philips SPC900NC webcam

Hi All,

I am looking for a Philips SPC900NC webcam either modded with the long exposure mod or unmodded.

I have been unsuccessfully trying to source one and cant find any around.

Does anyone want to part with theirs? PM me if interested please or reply with details.

Cheers

Chris

Could not believe my eyes Chris ... only saw first part of the thread title in the forum list, and honestly thought you were after some specific type of Philips Screwdriver!

Have a look on E-bay , plenty there

Just brought one myself, now all i have to do is wait for it to arrive.

Cheaper buying overseas, beside i don't think that anyone has one here, all out of stock.

You are a classic Jeff!

Thanks Westsiderailway, I have been looking at Ebay, but I thought the $23US for freight was a bit steep? also, some of the latest ratings for the seller's describe items not working or not even shipped or used condition....hmmmm. ;(
MSY at Brooklyn branch in Vic has one in stock BUT, they dont ship it, you have to get a courier to pick it up or get a Melbournite to drop by and get it. Bit scungy, all this too after 3 hours of ringing every store they have because none of them can answer the phone or are constantly engaged. They cant even transfer it to a Sydney store via stock transfer or anything. grrrrrrrr.

Chris

Interesting, I'm about to buy one myself in the next couple of weeks. And this is the very reason I looked in this forum lol.

Have you tried these guys?

Besides the camera and the 1.25" adaptor you'll also need an IR block filter.

You dont NEED an IR block. You do to image mars, and it can improve results. but you dont NEED it... I've captured all my images to date without IR blocking filters.. or any filters for that matter.

Hi All,

Just received a modded PCVC840K from Grahame who let me have it for a very reasonable price. Thanks Grahame, I can't wait to fire it up and see how I go with Planets and DSO's at prime focus.

Apparently it is firmware upgraded also to closer resemble the capabilities of the SPC900nc. I am stoked, hope to post some images as soon as the clouds and rain bugger off. (Someone in Sydney must have bought a scope recently - come on, fess up)

Thanks to all who replied.

Chris
