Negative Moon

Inspired by some negative imaging I was doing this evening. I thought that I'd see what effect I could obtain with a picture of the Moon that I took on the 25th of May.
If anything, it's different.

Your image got me to thinking (and tinkering) and I jjjnettie'd one of my moon images taken on 23/2/08 in the same way and posted it below for a look.

It is certainly a different point of view.

It does bring out heaps of detail that otherwise would have been obscured by brightness.
With full moon coming up, I might try this again.

The detail in that piccie Jeanette is stunning, especially in the rays around the craters. Great idea you've come up with....now, that's a shot that would be worthy of CWAS

I've always created colour negative versions of all of my moon shots because it shows different detail. I really like the technique, and I'm not sure why more don't do it.

I reckon if I entered one of these in an Astro photo comp some eyebrows would be raised.
I might do that, just to stir the pot.

Actually, I think they'd really like it....the detail is much crisper and noticeable in those shots than in a normal one.
