Milky Way Ultra Wide Mosaic (66 degrees)

4 frames. Sixty-six degrees of sky. This is an adhoc mix of exposures (some 4 mins at ISO800 and others 2mins at ISO1600). The left and right sides of the pic were shot in 2007. The middle (Norma) was shot this week.

Canon 350D; 50mm EF II f1.8@f6.3; Meade LXD-75. No filters.

Fantastic work Bill.
I love these types of shots.
The result justifies the time you've put into it.

Thanks, guys.

If you want a closeup it'll be a big download (2.9 MB! at 70% JPG compression), but I'll post a link to it soon.

Terry: I ended up just aligning them by hand in Photoshop. I tried using Canon's Photostitch but wasn't real happy with the result. Too blurry at the joins.
