Eq6 guiding with a dsi

Hi guys never have I posted before so I hope I dont come across to Lame.
My question is Iam thinking about getting an eq6, will a dsi be capable of guiding it using eqmod and pulse guide through the hand controler. I'm trying
to cut costs on buying a more dedicated camera.
Thanks

Hi,

I guided with no problems using a DSI and a 70 mm Saxon achro, EQ6. However I used a shoestring GPUSB direct to the guide port on the EQ6, controlled by PHD.

John you probably could, but you will most likely still need a GPUSB anyway (unless you guide with ASCOM and I can't help you there ) so forget the mod and just go the normal way; Camera>laptop>PhD Guiding>GPUSB>EQ6 Guideport.

BTW make sure you get the guide cable at the same time you order your GPUSB

The GPUSB will make your guiding a piece of cake.

Hi John,

If you are already using EQMOD check my post at the link below
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=32758

The only difference that I dont not use a hand controller and connect directly using EQDIR. However even it's used it should work as well.

cheers,

Mike
