ASCOM NGCMAX Help Required

Hi All,

After reading and replying to Paul's thread. I am now having a problem of my own. I was hoping to setup tonight and have my NGC-MAX talking to my PC. I finally got around to putting a cable together for i and tested the cable, it's connected as far as i can tell to the correct pins. Now I can use a Terminal program and can open the USB Serial Com10 port and when I issue the O command the unit replies with the Encoder possition of 0 (which is right as no encoders are connected).

So I installed ASCOM 5 and Intelliscope 1.0 drivers and tried to connect using POTH and CDC. Both give the same error from the Ascom configuration screen. Com10 could not be opened for communications...... it maybe in use etc etc.
I am not sure why i am getting this error as no other program is using the com m port and my terminal application can connect to the NGC-MAX.

Can someone help me fix this.

Regards
Fahim

Ok had an idea and i think i may have it fixed now. Changed the com port from 10 to 2 and now i dont get the error. I do however get another error on connecting but i think this is because i dont have my encoders connected.
