Animation of Mars/M44 over last 8 days

Hi all,

Here's my first attempt at an animation. It shows Mars and the Beehive Cluster, taken at about 8 pm each night for the last 8 nights, using a tripod-mounted K100D with 300mm telephoto lens and 8-10 sec exposures at 1600 iso. It gives a good indication of how fast Mars moves!

I had to make it small to fit the posting requirements. Hope you like it!

Cheers,
Stephen

Great animation Stephen.
Have you thought about a retrograde loop as a long term project?
Well done and looking forward to seeing more.

Great animation Stephen.

I didn't realise how fast Mars moves during a short period of time.

Well done.

Nice work Stephen and 10 out of 10 for dedication! This is a lovely animation illustrating how these "wandering stars" move amongst the fixed stars. I can only imagine what the ancient sky watchers must have felt when they observed this phenomenon over several nights and seasons.

Cheers

Dennis
