King Of The Gods

Who caught Jupiter last night?
One of the best views I have had for a long time.
The 6mm Orthoscopic (240X) came in handy,
showing excellent detail.
The seeing just got steadier as the night progressed.

Nothing for me unfortunately, completely clouded out down this way.

But I suspect there is good viewing on the way though.

Cheers

now you're testing my memory

I would have to try and dig out some old Astro Optical catalogues
to find out its exact age.
Late seventies or early eighties, maybe. I had it when Halley revisited and supernova 1987A blew up.

I haven't used the old home made beastie for a long time, but when viewing conditions like last night come along I am glad of the home made equatorial mount. Even if the motor drive isn't very good, it sure as hell beats pushing an alt-az around at high power.
