Xmas holidays?

Hey guys.

What are you guys up to for xmas and the holidays?

Going anywhere exciting?

I'm off to Port MacQuarie for a week, then up to Bellingen (where the olds live) for a couple more nights, before heading back home.

Hoping to visit the PortMac observatory while i'm there, and my 11x70's will hopefully give me some nice views of Maccholz etc.

First time on holidays with 3 kids.. last year it was only 2 kids.. it's going to be eventful i'm sure

Going to camp at the Falls Festival (Marion Bay) for 3 days, chill out and listen to some good music. Thinking about taking my refractor along, but by the time the entertainment is over each night I suspect I may be a little too inebriated to handle Naglers, so maybe not.

Last day of work was today (YAY!), jumping on a plane on Sat morning, flying to parents house in Daintree (via Ayers Rock of all places!) and spending a month up there fishing and diving every day

Cheers,

Brad

Sounds like for the most part, some good holidays. For myself I am going over to my shack over on York Peninsula and spending 4 days fishing for Salmon and Mullaway, and 4 nights doing astrophotography under skies that are dark from horizon to horizon. I'll be as happy as a pig in you know what. Only trouble is the full moon will be present on our first night there, so by night three is should give us some time of dark skies. Then I have to come home and do jobs that need doing here.

Wow, some good getaway places people are going to. Today is my last day at work (hence, the prescence on the forums during the day... )
I've got three weeks leave so I'm going to try to squeeze in as much as possible. Having a big dinner I'm cooking for the family on christmas eve and then a huge family BBQ (yes the clan will be gathering) on christmas day. My husband-to-be will not be getting any leave poor thing...so my time will be by myself ...with my scope
oh and of course, catching up on all the forum-ing that i've been missing out on.
and also catch up on

Six weeks off and no kids for 3. I'm planning to miss out on a lot of sleep.

Ok, hands up who's going to be spending a lot of time on this forum this christmas ...come on now, be honest!

Silvie I will be out of range by boxing day, but should be back by new years eve. I might check the forum on New years day. If not too hung over. Will not be checking it on Christmas day. Too much to do, have to travel all over the place.

Same here rumples. Since I'll be cooking on both chrissie eve and xmas day, I won't be here at my comp so I have to make the time up before and after Hope you enjoy new years. I refuse to go into the city for new years now. It's getting too rowdy! I prefer a quiet night at home with plenty of pizza.
Hope you enjoy your dark skies rumples. You should shoot the moon on the first night, if you can't beat em, join em! Good luck mate.
there, there ponders, we'll all still be here for you

lol Aragorn. If you tidy up the house now, you won't have to do it later and then Maria won't have to do it
I'm at a loss at what to do too. Two hours on this forum already and nothing accomplished. I have two basket loads of ironing to do but I figure, what do I have to iron em for when I don't have to go to work so I don't need anything nice to wear? But then Le still has to go work so might as well iron his stuff.
I say, do all the easy cleaning, hang out here for a bit, then head off to the beach in the arvo. Go shopping in the evening, less people. Me, I have to do some grocery shopping and then do some cooking, maybe put out the chrissie lights ( haven't done it yet)...*groan* hmmm, I'm still here...arrggghhh!!! Gonna go crazy!
