8th May Jupiter
Hi all,
Just a quicky from this morning, where the seeing was the best I had seen ever.
Got to race off to an appointment now, so will be back with some more.

What's the opposite of seeing? That's what I've got. I've started a collection of daily jetstream maps to prove to myself I'm not being
overly paranoid.
Nice pic
cheers

Hi Lester
Phew! That is a stunner! I reckon that is your best Jupiter so far and you’ve done a terrific job on all fronts; capture, image scale, processing, detail, etc. The detail in the smaller spots is quite sublime!
Top stuff!
Cheers
Dennis

Same here, Marko
The jetstream has been parked over us for ages. It's been terrible.
But checking the jetsream maps (200/300mb)...it looks like Lester and all the guys down south ozzie way are in for a few nice nights.
Good luck folks!

Thanks everyone for your replies.
The process was done in a hurry and didn't have time to smooth it, so the granular look may be to slightly over doing it in the rush.
Yes we have got a few good days ahead of us down south by the jetstream map, so long as the fog stays away.
Will see if I can get some more processed before going out tonight.

Thanks Mike.
Here is a later avi, showing the GRS comming around the side; unfortunately the seeing wasn't as good as for the first image, but still good to what I have been use to.

A bit too much smoothing on that one, Lester. Looks a bit wishy washy now.
It's a fine art isn't it? Each avi has to be processed on its merits when the seeing changes during a session.

Yes agreed, will have to have another go. Out of Registax the image was no where near as sharp as the first image and I only smoothed it the same amount as the first.
So, like you said Mike each avi has to be processed on its merits.
Thanks for your comments, very helpfull.

Reprocessed that last image to get rid of the virticle lines. They are caused by using too much waveletts in number 2 in Registax. Sometimes a good image can take number 2 waveletts, but in this case it cannot.

Thanks again for your replies.
I don't usually do resamples as the seeing hasn't been good enough, but thought this image was worth a try.
So here is a 1.5 resample, and I think it turned out okay.
Comments welcome.
