First Frost for the year
Hi Guys, well we cracked it for our first frost for the year, 0 degrees at 7am, inside the Observatory 2.4 degrees, now that will help with the noise levels.

White grass here in Coota this morning too, seems it was pretty widespread.

Very close but not quite for me, it wont be far off though.
I can see some great imaging nights coming up.

Down to 8 degrees here overnight, which is pretty cool for Brisbane...especially at this time of year.
Still...we're heading for tops in the mid to late 20s.
It's a far cry from Canberra and Orange... Both places I have lived, and experienced their fairly harsh winter conditions.

Winter cold and frosty nights, bring it on, I reckon, I just love em. Alice reckons I'm strange, but that is pretty normal for us astronomers, Isn't it

Certainly is Leon, the colder it is the sharper the stars. Great for imaging in my books.
So far today I've got clear sky and the temp is starting to drop nicely as well, it's shaping up to be a good night by all accounts.

Same here Ric, although there is still some high stuff hanging around, but then again it is still early, a few hours to go yet.

Yup - was cold here - they said 1 degree - NW Sydney.
I got tired and confused and left my laptop outside in the backyard all night (running Stellarium). Suffice to say it was a bit dewey this morning... - managed to get to it before the direct sun though.
Still - left it alone away from the power all day and this evening it's powered up and going strong...<touches wood>. I've always rated Dell Latts and this one's obviously pretty robust.

Twas a balmy 6 degrees last night due to a heavy cloud cover.
Looks like more of the same tonight.
Cheers
