The unfolding space telescope

Makes for a nifty travelscope.

That is cool Slick.

If they sent a couple of those up it won't be such a loss when they send Hubble into the ocean.

Makes for an interesting idea for portability for us amatuers too.

BIG BEARINGS!!!!! I wonder if the comp & table go with it?

Although the prototype contains a respectable 50 cm-diameter mirror, Segert believes that it can scaled up in the future to achieve space telescopes bigger than the Hubble Space Telescope but still at a fraction of the cost. "If we did that," says Segert, "the astronomers would be in heaven."
Wouldn't want to carry it too far. L.

If John Dobson wasn't impressed about having the mount named after him, hows he going to feel if there's hundreds of 'Dobson' space telescopes ?

I would imagine that he would have to give his permission for them to name it that. He ain't dead yet!

The again, as it is so simple, he would love the idea. He loves 'simple'.

Just don't DOB us in to the authorities!

Pity the inflatable idea didn't work for them. I can just imagine Stargazers turning up at a Star Party, out with the pump!!!!
