moonrise + venus and regulus

took these tonight. Got a very poor shot of venus and regulus. Very turbulent air.

then I concentraited on the moon rising over the ocean.

maybe, but I loved the blood red colour when it rose up out of the "sea" Not long now, 8 sleeps!

wicked inferior mirage Houghy! you have nearly got an Etruscan Vase happening there - some nice mirages on IIS today

inferior just means the mirage affects the area below the object/subject.
an etruscan vase just means it is shaped like the famous vase of antiquity - see second link

Houghy,

It's good to see someone being a lil more artistic with their imaging. Actually when I was in Japan on a stop over at sunset. that was the colour of the sun sitting on the horizon... as the ground crew stand in line and wave good bye... it's true they do!!!
