Eagle Neb with Modded 20D

Hi Guys,

Tonight is pretty boring, Full Moon, and not much to do, so I have the Eagle Neb for you which I did when I had Erics Modded 20D, which I have now sold onto Paul. yea I know, you figure it out.

Anyway, M16 was pretty low at the time, and seeing wasn't that good but I needed to try out this modded camera stuff.

The image is of 10 exposures at 2 minutes and 30 seconds each, at 400 ISO. through the Tak 106, and mounted on the G11, auto guided, and processed in Image Plus.

Please comment either way, I can use the help.

Leon

Hi,

Looks good to me Leon. My only comment is that you could have used some more data.

Very good image for 2min subs Leon. With longer exposure times it would have possibly been your best image.

What were you thinking when you sold this camera.

.

Should have kept both cameras for a great imaging range.

Very nice Leon - not quite as black clipped as some of your other processed images and some good detail. Definitely agree with the others:
1) More data would've made it a cracker
2) Why did you sell that camera!?

Just kidding. You should just mod your 5D

Thanks Guys, yea I know I need a good slapping, but do not fear, I'm working on it, once I get the courage to dismantle a 5D.

A great capture for only 2 minute subs Leon but it could've used more data.

Mod you 5D!

Good start Leon. Perhaps capture more data over the next few nights and amalgamate your efforts into one fine image. Look forward to seeing more.

A lovely widefield. Yes we could all say we needed more data but then we would never see the pretty pics. As for the camera, I have been a little dissapointed with my DSI II pro from the begining and I don't live far from you...

Hi Matt, the DSI II can be a bit tricky at the start but once you get the hang of them they are a very capable little camera and will give you a good grounding in astrophotography.

Cheers
