Saturn and Moon

hi folks,
this is a first light image taken last night with my new planetary equipment:
DMK 21AF04 and Atif filterwheel with Astronomik filters.
seeing was not exactly at its best but it was fun to image solar sytem objects after all.

Very nice indeed, Dietz. That Saturn image is wonderful - beautiful colours and I love the clarity of the crepe ring.

And any Vallis Alpes shot with the central rille shows a sign of good conditions and a man in control of his equipment.

Any reason you used 15fps instead of 30fps on the moon?

Does your laptop have firewire or are you using a hub?

transparency was so low I had to take exposure times that did not allow anything faster than 15 fps!
we had some cirrus clouds as a kind of high athmospheric haze...too bad!
it is the fire wire camera.
I tested it at home - it runs perfectly at 60 fs.
particulary the lunar image suffers from the 15 fps...looks like a webcam image...

...and this is how saturn looked at f/9 ; seeing was less well.
nevertheless, the 4 moons are nicley visible:
from right to left:
titan, rhea, dione and thetys.
