Ngc4945

the other night I spent a lot of time with my 1o inch dob trying to find NGC 4945 from my backyard in Sydney -and failed

M104-easy
NGc 4945-nope

so has anyone been able to track this galaxy down from a light polllutd area?oh I know exactly where it should be....but like the Helix I cant seem to see it from home

The surface brightness for N4945 is more than one magnitude fainter than for M104. (23.2 vs 22.1)
You will do better from a dark location with a 10", I saw it easily with a 10" last Friday night.
