Kendall, I tried to contact you by private email but apparently you won't accept these. I love binos and am interested; they look like the next in the series after my 30mm, 40, 50 and 80mm pairs. I have to leave early tomorrow and won't be back until at least 10pm and then leave by 7.30 the next day. So it will be Thursday evening before I can follow up.

Please try not to sell them until I can mug the treasurer

I suggested to the guy that runs Manly life saving club a pair or two of these pier mounted at the club on the observation deck might be a very good idea. How close a target can they focus on 30 - 60 metres?

Yes mate, they would work a reat. 60m would be fine. Could save the boys alot of agro. If they were really keen, i could go and set them up for them to look thru, i live pretty close, Kendall

Sorry. I've been putting off saying no because I'd love to say yes. However I've had to admit that I can't justify the money at the moment. I have 15x80s that are underused, a 15cm refractor that can cover 2 degrees and we are about to buy a 25cm scope. I only came to the decision last night while looking through the 15cm and thinking 'I need a bigger scope'.

I hope the new owner enjoys their new toys.

According to Luke at Andrew's - yes. I imagine this is correct as the Oberwerk binos are made in China and it is well known that Andrews source a lot of their products direct from Chinese manufacturers.

Yes and no, i believe they are produces in the same factory, however these come in fine aluminium flight case, while the Andrews are in a quite poor trolley bag, Regards, Kendall

Hi Kendall,
What is the minimum focal length eye-piece (in mm) that you 've successfully observed on the BT100? Which brand/model eye-pieces do you recommend? How about zoom eye-pieces?

I have viewed very well through some 7mm radians, Saturn was superb.
Never used zoom pieces, you would need to trial them, the focal lengths may vary from eps toeps.
I find 68 degree eps are good. I am using Orion Stratus in 24 and 17mm with good results.
Panoptics 24mm work very well, also have tried 13mm Naglers, Beautiful?
