SOLD Vixen SP Mount, Dual drive - SOLD

I have upgraded to a HEQ5 so I'm offering this mount for trade or offers.

This is the Vixen Super Polaris Mount. I found this mount to be much better made than the Chinese EQ5 which is a copy of this mount. It comes on a Sturdy (but not so portable) wooden tripod. And has a Polar Scope.

It has Dual drives however the Dec motor is a bit dodgy and doesn't drive very well. The RA motor seems fine to me. It used to be the other way around, but I swapped the motors around so I would have good RA tracking.

The hand controller has been modified to include 2 red lights (see pics). And a 240V power supply has been attached to one of the legs (can just see it in pic) to supply the scope with around 9V.

I don't know a lot about this mount but I have thoroughly enjoyed owning it!

Other than the dodgy motor the mount is in good condition.

Open to offers, or trade against a guide camera of some sort.

Cheers,

Dave.

Sure... I think this mount could easily handle any 8" scope.

I had a C8 on it and it was great. I guess around 10KGs. I'm no expert on this mount but from using it I get the impression it would handle any 8" scope plus accessories.

I'm not sure of the value of this mount which is why I asked for offers.

As for postage wieght... It would be a lot. About 20KGs at least I would say, the tripod legs fold in but they don't get any shorter.

Local pickup would be prefered, but I may look at postage if no-one local wants it or if organised by the buyer.

Please PM me if you want to talk specifics.

Cheers,

Dave.

$250 was too much... Mount has sold for $200.
